COURSE ASSIGNMENTS:


Assignments include papers, discussions and individual final projects. You will be expected to write a 1000 word analysis in response to the focus questions for each chapter. There are 12 chapters and papers will be required for chapters 4-12. These focus papers are due on or before Sunday night of each week. You are encouraged to work ahead on your papers. For more information on the focus questions they are already posted under the section on focus papers.
You must contribute at least two substantive and thoughtful responses to each of the two or three discussion questions posted each week. There will be one question on each chapter. You will be responsible for posting a discussion question, moderating the discussion, and summarizing the discussion at the end of the week.

You will be asked to select the subject of one chapter of the text to explore in more detail over the Internet. The final project will be a one page examination of the topic to accompany a description of online resources supporting that topic. These resources should be listed by url and described individually. Examples of the last two summers final projects are provided under internet resources. The final project is due Sunday, August 2.
